Week 53 in Mexico

Guadalajara

Yeah, well pretty much Elder Uchtdorf and Eyring wrote their talks for me.  I think they were the talks in the priesthood session.  Uchtdorf talked about being humble.  I have found out that I am very prideful.  I think I hide it but I often times think that I am better than others and I take a lot of the credit that I should not take but the Lord.  I loved what he said about how we can cultivate the humility, "The humility is achieved as we think less in ourselves and more in others" . . . that is what I need to focus on.  And Eyring talked about how we can have the spirit with us.  That was way good too.  I don't know about you guys but when President Monson gets up to talk their is a different feeling in the room.  I don't know how to describe it but everytime he stood up you could feel the difference and know that he is a prophet of God.  I have so many things to work on!!!
Mom, speaking of your cooking class . . .when I get home I want to learn how to cook bunch of stuff.  And I also want to take up piano again.  I regret having dropped piano and I want to get back into it.  I know this sounds weird but I also think I want to take a dance class to learn all types of dance because I have seen so many people down here dancing all these sweet dances and if I were to go there and dance I would only do the solja boii. (I don't remember how to spell his name).  But yeah, I want to learn all of the sweet dances that there are, especially the Mexican ones.  But we will see if all of that comes true or not.
Well everyone is telling me that I am leaving and they are moving me up to zone leader!!! I kind of don't want to be there just because you have to do a bunch of crap and less time to work.  But whatever, I will take whatever the Lord gives me.
We had a baptism in between sessions on Sunday, it was way sweet.  He is a husband of a less active family and he was way pumped to get baptized.  He is in the military and he travels a lot but they gave him like a month off and he told us that he wanted to get baptized!!! He is way smart and loves the lessons we have taught him and he learned so many new things that he didn't know before.  I was pretty pumped because he wanted my comp to baptize him.  My comp had not baptized an adult for a long time and I think that helped him get more animated.

Well mom, I was wondering what is up with Spencer Payne and why is he not in the newsletter.  He probably feels like crap because I am sure that throughout the summer he had to have seen it once or twice.  Look up his number and call him and tell him that we want to hear from him.  He needs to keep in contact with us or he is going to slip off the deep end and start hanging out with others who don't have the standards we have.  This might even be a way to help him recognize that the church is true!!! Please mom, look him up for me.
Well the CTR rings are a hit.  Laura Neilson gave he a bunch of rings and I just barely took them out and am giving them to all the kids and they love them.
Well basically I had a few talks written for me and can't comprehend the works of God but he manages to answer almost everyone's questions in just a couple of talks.
I love you all so much and I hope that in six months we can say that we have achieved the goals we have put forth this conference.
Big huggs!!!
Elder Mahas
