Week 55 in Mexico

Ciudad Guzman

Here is my new comp, Elder McKell, from Draper, Utah. He is way sweet and already knows a lot of Spanish. We are living with the zone leaders. We had 5 baptism dates for the 30th but four of them didn't come to church and 2 of them got lost on the way and are going next week. The members are way sweet here and willing to work with us unlike many other areas.

Ok, well this week was alright. We had 5 dates for the 30th but four didn't go to church so we have to bump them back. But they are really sweet and progressing well. We just need to strengthen their testimony. This is a little bit poorer than the areas where I have been before but I love it. The members are willing to work so we will see what we can do there.

There is a mail place here so I am going to send some stuff soon for Christmas. Oh and mom, I think soon I will run out of pages in my journal so send me the other one that I got, please.

Well this week I learned that you can't sing with Mexicans. We were in a family home evening and we sang a hymn and it has some high notes but we started well, all on the same note. Then we hit the higher ones and I hit it but they all just changes the pitch and I had to adjust constantly to how they sing.

Well this week in my studies I learned just as Elder Ering said that we need to meditate more on the scriptures and on the things that we read and not just read a bunch. Revelation comes when we are meditating on what we have read and praying to our Heavenly Father. I was reading the paragraphs in the chapter 3 lesson, the first principle. God is our loving Heavenly Father. It says that he cries with us when we are sad and is happy when we do the right. I was meditating over that and I received a spiritual confirmation of that and I know that God loves us soooo much and we can't even comprehend it. These are the types of experiences that build our testimony. We need to not just read but meditate just as Nephi did when he wanted to know what his father had seen. It says that he was seated and reflecting on the things that his father had said and that is when he was taken away in the spirit.

I love you.
