Week 27 in Mexico

San Vicente

This week has been so freaking hot it's not even for real, and it’s just getting started. Everyone says that it is still cool, but I am sweating it up.

Well, I am kind of a klutz and dropped a plate of one of the members here and they told me I didn’t need to give them any money or anything. But I took down their address and I was wondering if you could send them a plate from up there. They were kind of nice plates, it looked like it. They think that the package is going to come for me but it will be for them. haha This family is sweet and have helped us so much in our work. That would be sweet haha to see their faces. They had a set of four plates and I broke the one. I feel like an idiot. But if you can’t it’s OK too.

This week we challenged some people to be baptized, but the ones that accepted didn’t show up to church. That was kind of disappointing. We have a couple that has gone to church twice in a row and are loving it. They need to get married and we are hoping to go this Thursday because it’s the only day that they can have the chat thing at the office. We are praying for them so that they can go. We also have a couple of other prospects and we are working hard with them to get them to the church.

Yeah, I didn’t even realize that I had 8 months out until today when I was just sitting there thinking to myself. That is so weird, I almost have one year. Can you believe it???? I’ll be coming home before you know it.

Meg, that is so weird that you are getting married this Friday. I’ll be thinking of you and praying for you so that you can feel peace in the temple, that you don’t feel nervous or anything like that.

I have been reading the New Testament and its pretty dope, and I feel like an idiot because I didn’t read hardly any of the Bible before the mish. I love in Acts 17:2 when it says that Paul entered the synagogue because he was already used to doing it, or something like that, I don’t know the translation in English. I love that because if you read, basically every time that he goes to a new city he goes straight to these places. I thought that I could apply that to certain things I am doing. It might not be the same as entering a church every time but little things. I can start forming habits, like Paul, so I can become a more effective missionary. I am also reading right now about Captain Moroni and Aarahemna. I love that story, it is so dope. When Zarahemna doesn’t want to accept the covenant and then Moroni says, then we will end the fight, and basically just scalps a dude. haha That was pretty sweet.

I want to know how everyone is doing. Dad, how is work and are you getting more jobs??? I am ready to come back and talk with all your workers in Spanish. hahah Not really I still have a long ways to go. Mom, how are you feeling with Meg getting married and how was it in the temple? Mike, how is the little niece coming along, wink wink. Anna, I know all is good with you. Keep on studying PMG. Study with Mike and do practices and the activities out of PMG and they will help you so much. The one in Chapter 10 about the scriptures is a way good activity to do so that you can describe what is going on in every scripture. Jolly Green Giant. . . I bet you are taller than me now. I really don’t feel too bad because I am basically towering over everyone here. Not really towering but I am taller than the majority which feels really weird. Jess, your already driving right? And Meg and the Slammer. . . well don’t really have to say anything more than that.

Well, my comp and I are getting along really well and we are hoping to see a few baptisms soon. We are both young and don’t have much experience so I hope we are doing the right things to have the success that I know we can have. My health is fine. I think I have gained a few lbs . . . not a great thing, but I have kind of been lazy with the working out but I know that is an important part of the day. We don’t get that long to do it, so I got my jump rope and I am going to try to take a few lbs off.

We are experiencing a lot of cool stuff. We promise the people that if they pray they will receive an answer, and they do!!! But guess what? We come back to the house and the majority of the husbands don’t want their wives getting into this kind of stuff. She can’t really do anything, but the fact is that she received an answer and she knows it’s true but she can’t keep progressing. I start to ask myself, why are there so many cases like that? Everything happens for a reason.

Oh my gosh, I am so pumped for conference, you don’t even know. The apostles and pres. are going to throw down. haha I hope we bring all of our investigators so that they can hear the messages because they talk so much better than we ever could as missionaries.

Easter here is just basically a party week. It’s called Semana Santa, the holy week. Basically everyone is drunk and just having a great time. All the good die-hard Catholics haha. We will see how it turns out.

Keep praying for the people down here and everywhere. They need so much help. I can’t believe how many people we contact and we ask them what they know about Christ and they don’t really know anything. That almost makes me cry knowing that they don’t know and can’t experience what Christ did for them. They don’t know about true repentance and the importance of the atonement.

Love you, got to go ... Bye
