Week 77 in Mexico

Well we had this week another baptism on Thursday of a 19 year old granddaughter of a sister in the ward. Her name is Diham.  I forgot my camera so I will have to send you pics after. And this week we are going to baptize the kid of the mom that we baptized the first week I was here. His name is Adalberto. And dad, I am not sure if the family that we left got baptized in the other area.  I will have to check this week. But I think so they were really sweet. It was actually a reference from Provo, Utah. Their kid was up there and he wanted us to get visit his fam. I will check.

Well this week we had a really sweet experience. The first night I got here we had a family home evening with a less active family and my comp didn't really know them and we didn't really have a plan because I had just arrived in the area. So we decided to just go along with what we felt. So all were less actives and there was one who was not a member but is the wife of like a 30 year old less active. Her name is Guadalupe. So quickly we caught on and we began to win her confidence and get to know her better so she felt comfortable with us. Then we started to teach lesson 3 and we challenged her to baptism but she didn't accept. We left the pamphlet with her and we returned and she hadn't read it. So we started to read it with her and we got to repentance and talked about the steps to repentance. The first step is recognize. And we asked her if she feels like she needs to repent of something and she said she needed to repent because she wasn't willing to follow Christ by being baptized!!! I have never heard an answer like that before and it blew me away. Obviously she understood the importance of being baptized. She came with us to the conference on Sat. and we put a date with her in the font that same day for the 23. She said maybe but she had doubts because of her family and what they would think. On Sunday she went with her family to tell them about it. On the way there while she was on the bus she began to tremble because she was scared and didn't know how to explain it to them and how they would react. So she said a prayer as we had taught her and she asked God to soften the heart of her mom. So she talked with her mom and her mom accepted!!! That is a true testimony to me that the spirit is the true teacher. I don't remember exactly what I taught but I felt it. She is ready for the 23 and she is way excited. Pray for her. Sorry I can't write a lot we are late to the district class. I love you all and I can't wait to talk to you all. Peace.
