Week 76 in Mexico

Well mom here is the address of Elder Rosales:  I have been thinking a lot about him lately and would love to talk to him.  He always has fears about falling when he got home in sin.  I told him that I would be checking up on him and giving him calls so he can keep on the right path.  But now that he is home I can't really do that for four more months.  But I hope going home early doesn't ruin it for it.

Well I am with a new comp, Elder Flores.  He is way cool and was in my district in Guzman.  I already knew him before and we got along very well.  He has about a year in the mission and is really ready to learn.  He tells me that he doesn't know much and he is excited to learn with me.  He is very humble and he is really willing to work.  The pres told me that he is a companion garanteed, because he is willing to do the things.  We are working really well.  We had 2 baptisms in between the 2 conferences on Sunday. The girl's name is Maria Jose and she was set for that day before I even got there.  But the mom was having many doubts.  The first day I got there we went to see them and Elder Flores said that something in her changed.  We asked her about baptism and she didn't tell us the same excuses that she had told the other missionaries.  The spirit testified to her and prepared her to make this choice.  And then while we were reviewing the baptismal questions with her daughter she said, can I get baptised with my daugther.!!! It was cool.  We are going for one this week with a 19 year old girl named Dahiam, I hope it all goes well. And then for the next week we have the kid of the mom that just got baptised.  And we are looking for more . . .

Well I learned so many things in the conference it's not even funny.  But just summing it up I loved the talk by Monson in the preisthood session.  He was reprooving but with such love.  And another talk by the presidente of the young men I think when he was talking to the deacon that just got set apart to be president.  I loved that story because he asked him questions but he didn't try to shove everything down his throat.  He trusted in the spirit, he trusted that the spirit would testify to the boy about his calling and about what he needed to do.  He could have started to tell him all his duties and maybe he would not have understood anything.  But he trusted in the spirit to teach him.  That is how a teacher should be.  Many times we teach thinking that we must say everything and say it like 5 times so that they can understand.  But if we say it the right way the first time, following the spirit, the spirit will teach them.

Well happy birthday Mike.  I love you so much and your a big reason why I am out here. You set the example and I am so thankful that you paved the way for me.  We will be hanging out in 4 more months and we will have to do it like the old times.  Thanks for being the best brother ever.  Love your little bro, Huggs.

I got to go.

Love you all,

Elder Mahas
