Week 46 in Mexico

Guadalajara

Well, this week I am getting a new companion. I am sitting here with the zone leaders waiting for my comp to arrive. Supposedly he is kind of a rebel so I need to help him so that he can really become a true missionary. But I know that I will need to help so that I can help him to fulfill his purpose and so that we don't waste time while I am babysitting or something like that.

I am learning a lot of patience because we are doing everything that we know that is right but we are not seeing many results in our area right now.  But I know that the Lord with fulfill with his part as long as I am doing what is right. I really need to be able to accept the will of the Lord and a lot of times we want to change it but that is just selfish.

The conference was sweet!!!!! We learned a bunch of stuff that came directly from the 1st Presidency. It was about the things that a lot of missionaries are forgetting in the mission and it really helped me a lot to remember really why I am out here and what I need to do to fulfill with my purpose.

President Saucedo talked about the sabbath day and talked about all of the bad things that we do to break the sabbath day. I know I did a lot of things that I probably should not have done but I won't do them again. Now I agree with the no T.V. on Sunday mom, after so many years of trying to convince me. Please if you are doing these things STOP!!! We often don't realize what we are doing. We are breaking the first and grand commandment...do we really love God over a final round of golf!!! Dad, I know that is a hard one to answer but it is so true. We think it's just three hours in the church and then we can do whatever we want. But it's all day. I need to improve just as everyone but I know as we all do it as a family even though we are in different parts of the world we will be able to grow as a family and gain a stronger testimony of the sabbath day. Lets do it!

I got your packages--thanks so much. I was wondering if you got my letters that I sent for your birthday, dad, and I sent one to David Bennett too. I don't know if they ever got there.

Well I was reading Mosiah, I don't remember where but it is when Ammon leaves with the 43 people to look for Jerusalem. But they are lost for a while and end up finding the jaradite plates!! I think we can apply this to our lives. Many times we leave in search of one thing but we don't know that the Lord is guiding us to something different than we had thought. And often times it is something much better than what we thought. I love applying the scriptures to my life. Even though I do it in weird ways, it helps me to understand how those people must have felt and what they learned. Also in these times when he brings us to different places we need to ask why he wanted us to arrive there. Many times we pass through trials and we don't ask him what he wants us to learn from it and we don't learn the lesson. He will keep sending us the same types of trials until we understand. So it's better if we just understand the first time around. We need to ask the Father what it is that he would want us to learn.

I love you all so much and I know that we can all do better every single day.  We can't put our life on speed control. Life's roads have different speeds just as the roads in the world.
