Ok, my memory of Grandpa . . .
Well, I remember that every time we went to visit Grandpa I always gave him a hug and then he took my hand and he yelled to everyone, "look at these cute little hands" and then he would feel my shoulder and would say, "look at this big Mahas/golfer shoulders." I always loved that. And a vivid memory that I have of Grandpa that I will never forget is the smile that he always has on his face. I can see it right now. I put a goal after he passed away to put a smile on my face every single day to become more like him because every time you saw him you couldn't help but smile too. So in memory of him I am trying to put that Grandpa Bennett smile on my face and through that smile you can see the love that he had for each and everyone of us.
Well, this week was different. In our conference the last week or two they told us that we should challenge in the first visit every time. This comes directly from the First Presidency so we are putting that into practice and it is working. We found a couple that said they wanted to get baptized !!! And a couple of sisters who also said the same. The couple was going to go yesterday to church but he felt weird because he didn't have good clothes to put on so they didn't go. I think we are going to give him a white shirt to wear. Please pray for them. Their names are Marivel and Geovani. They are sweeeet. We are just starting to teach them but I know they have the desire but they just need to turn that into action.
This week we put goals for the final two weeks of this change. We prayed to the Lord and asked him how many people were ready to hear the gospel and get baptized on the 4th of September. We felt that four was the number. This couple could be two and we are still looking for the other two. I am planning on praying a lot more and fasting to be able to know what I can do to achieve this goal with my companion. Please pray for us too, we need all the support we can get but above it all we need to exercise the faith that what the Lord has told us is possible.
Well, you won't believe it but we were teaching a sweet lesson and all of the sudden I hear, "Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on touch me babe, da da da da can't you see that I am not afraid... latatata.... Lawrence is good at piano.... he shall be rockin' in my show"............. hahahahah I put my finger in my ear and made it look like nothing but I almost busted out laughing because that is like my favorite part of that show.
Everything with my comp is going fairly well. I changed a few things in the house so that he can be more obedient. You have to be very strict and can't let him go because he will start doing other stuff. But at the same time he has a real desire and wants to help these people come unto Christ. He is a great kid and we are going to see miracles here in this area. He also has an evil laugh that I have to record. haha. It's awesome. We are also doing a fast on the 21 of this months with the members so that they can have missionary opportunities in their lives and find people in their lives that need the gospel. If you want to join in you can. I am trying to do other things than just knock, because that is like a fallback plan. All elders are like, ok, we have an hour here....mmmmm...lets knock. And it really doesn't work that well so we are switching things up.
I love you all so very much. Thank you for your prayers. I can feel them everyday. Keep doing what's right. I heard something this week that hit me; everyone can do 95% of the things but the blessings come in that last 5%. We can't give up or give in to the little things that can trap us.
Love you all. Bye!!!!
