Haha wow, I could not even understand that letter that the brother wrote haha. But he said that they are taking care of me and that you should not worry. He gave you the direction to his house Mom, so that you can send the package. Just up front, don’t send anything for me, only for them because it is likely that I will not be here when they get it. I am pretty sure I am changing areas finally!! I really could stay here another change but I kind of do and I kind of don’t at the same time. But the Lord knows where I need to be.
Well we had two baptisms this week and one of an 8 year old that we were teaching because the parents are too lazy to teach in themselves and they will be condemned for that as it says in D&C so watch out. But yeah, it was way good. Here are some pictures from the baptism and from Sunday because one of the elders has only one week left and we took a bunch of pictures with him.
Well this week we had interviews from the assistants and they helped us a lot. They told us how we can teach with questions. As we give them questions to teach then they can teach themselves, and we are just guiding them along the way. And questions that go along with scriptures. I love teaching this way and I did it a little bit before but I am focusing on it even more now. I love seeing people learn for themselves through questions and scriptures that we give them. When they really find out for themselves through the spirit it is something that they will never forget. But if we are just filling them with information and talking the whole time it will go in one ear and out the other.
You have to read the first part of Chapter 6 in Either. It is so cool and we can compare it with our lives. It says in 4 that they threw themselves in the ocean trusting in the lord. And we can see that they had great faith. Think about it--would you throw yourself out into the ocean with no way to steer the boat, trusting in the Lord to take you to another side of the world? Yeah, not so easy. And with the challenges in our life we need to thrust ourselves in trusting that the Lord will guide us there. And He will guide us there through the Holy Ghost because we have prepared ourselves beforehand for these challenging times (verse 7). They were tossed around everywhere but they had prepared the boats as the Lord wanted them to, so nothing bad happened to them. I love how it says in 10 and they had the light continually, even when they were below the sea. And even in our darkest times and challenges we can have this light if we prepare ourselves like the Lord wants us to. And how do we do that? Through what the prophets tell us to do. I love that comparison.
Well, I have to go but I love you all so much and I will write more this week coming up. Keep doing what is right. Don’t be afraid to invite others to hear about the church. It’s not only the missionaries’ job to teach and to find. Read the part of the ‘Ask In Faith’ talk of Elder Bednar. He talks about how many members ask that the missionaries can have lots of success and many people to teach, and they just owns the members it awesome. Read it!!
As for my physical health, I am cooked well done and a little fatter . . . haha, but I’m working on that mom, don’t worry.
