Well, I am really sad to hear about Ian. I can’t believe that. It seems like he as something else going on. I don’t know but I will have to write him. Well, this week was really a good one. We had 7 people at church on Sunday and they look like they are progressing. One thing that I really learned is that we need to slow down with our reading of the Book of Mormon and meditate. I don’t think we get what that means sometimes. Meditation allows the revelation to come, not just reading the scriptures. We always say that the answers are in the scriptures but many times they might be squished between the lines and we have to put on the spiritual lenses to see what it is that God really wants us to get from this. I was reading in 1 Nephi 10:17 – it says that those who look diligently are those that will receive these revelations. I asked myself, “What does it mean to look diligently.” I sat there for a few minutes just thinking to myself and the thoughts started coming. I receive a revelation for myself and what God wants me to do right now in these moments so that I can help others to come unto Christ. That is how the revelation comes. That is how all the prophets of old received their revelations. They were reflecting upon what they had read and they were taken away in the spirit. To some extent I can say I was taken away in the spirit, and I received inspiration as for what the Lord wanted to tell me. That is how he talks to us.
Well, that is the main thing that really happen to me this week. Anna looks way happy and I am going to write her to tell her what’s up down here in Mexico.
Can you believe that I almost have a year!!! And I was thinking that when we talk again in December. I will have almost a year and a half!!! And then before you know it I will be going home… it is so crazy how fast time flies here in the mission.
I am going to hit you with some common questions that we get down here and I want to hear how you guys would answer them, with scriptures:
1) Why is the Sabbath day on Sunday if it says in the bible the seventh day (Saturday)?
2) I am scared to go to the church because I have had bad experiences in other churches.
3) Why don’t you applaud in your church during the hymns?
4) Why don’t the women wear veils?
5) The bible says that there should only be one book, not others.
Well, I don’t have much else to write to y’all, only that I am doing really well and I am working the hardest I can to please my Heavenly Father and bring more souls unto Him. I really can’t even begin to tell you how blessed our family is. We have sooooooo much and we take for granted all that we have. There are many people that have to choose between a bus to the church, or dinner. They only have the money to do one of the two. We talked about that yesterday in the class and I taught principles of the gospel. We talked about sacrifice and how we need to sacrifice and then the blessings will flow in. I read 3 Nephi 13:31-33 and how God knows that we need to eat and all of that stuff, but if we make the choice to go to church even though we don’t have money to eat, the Lord will provide. It was a good class for all of them.
I love you all so very much.
