Week 33 in Mexico

San Vicente

Well right when I am about to put all the pictures on the other USB, they all got erased. Oh well, that’s life. I am pretty pissed about that but whatever, you have all the good ones that really matter to me. So yeah Mom, I know you are going to die, but from now I am going to try to keep it on my chip of the camera and the USB and my backup so that I can always have to copies. Here are some recent pictures, but the rest I have no idea where they are off too.

Anyway, last night was so good to hear the voices of everyone. I couldn’t wait, I went to tell my companion like three times that he had to hang up and he told me that he would and then 20 minutes later I would do the same thing. But whatever, the fact is that we talked. Everyone sounds really good. One thing that I was going to say to Jess is that every Sunday that we fast we should give offering of what we would have eaten. I never did that before my mission and really what I studied this week was too. The brother of Jared was able to see Christ because he had sanctified himself. And I started to think. What do we have to do to be sanctified? I looked it up and it gave me a lot of scriptures. It basically says that we turn our hearts over to God. We deny all of the worldly things and do what He would want us. The thing is that sometimes we think that only the prophets can see God and receive these great revelations. But it is a gift of the Spirit to know with assurity that Jesus is the Christ. I want to be able to receive that testimony. I don’t want to do it so I can say I have seen Christ but so that I can sanctify myself so I can enter into the celestial kingdom. It is not easy but I am going to do what it takes to sanctify myself just as any of the prophets have. I love you all so very much and would ask for your prayers this week so that I can be attentive to the promptings of the Spirit and be ready to listen to the Spirit this Saturday because He is the real teacher. These are not only going to be the words of Elder Bednar, but of God. We have to prepare our minds so that we can understand these words because if we don’t listen with spiritual ears we will leave saying that was pretty cool and we will keep on doing the same things. I know the Lord has something divine for me. I know He wants me to have more success, all I have to do is listen.

Well we pretty much said everything last night and I don’t know what else to say. Pray for this ward so that it can be strengthened and it can be divided so that we can bring more souls unto Christ!!

One thing I want to hear from everyone that writes me--every week I want you to tell me one thing you did to become more like Christ. If you don’t have ideas go to Chapter 6 in Preach My Gospel at the very end and there is a test. Take the test and determine what you need to work on. Study it and pray for it so that you can become more like our Savior because that is what we should be doing every week and every day of our lives. And if we are not, it’s not too late to start.

I love you all so very much and I thank for your prayers and support. Keep me updated on Anna.

Love, Elder Mahas
