Week 7 in Mexico

Puerto Vallarta

Ya, so transfers were this week and no one changed in my house which I am glad about. My comp got moved to district leader though. But, all is good. My comp said usually in your first area you stay three or four changes but with the new Pres who knows.

Oh mom, I got your two tester packages and they are no longer. I downed pretty much all of them and shared with the Elders here. The peanut butter is a great idea by the way keep it coming, because it is way expensive here.

Well ya, we were supposed to have two baptisms on Sunday but we went by to get our investigators before church and they both weren’t there!!! Ya, so I was kinda freaking out but we were a little bit latter than we had told them. So we went and got other investigators and when we got there one of our investigators, Guadalupe (Lupito) had gone by himself. He is way short. But ya, he was all ready to go so he just left. The other one never showed up and I was supposed to baptize her. So my comp baptized Lupe and the other one never showed up. So we have to go by her house and see what happened. None of her kids want anything to do with the church so I think it was hard for her to make this choice. But the baptism was so cool. I was thinking of the scripture that says how great will be your joy when you bring one soul unto me. I don’t know how much I actually helped but
I was there and I watched the change in him. He is a completely different person. A week ago he was drinking and smoking and had been doing it for like 50 years. This past week he has not touched
anything. He says he prays every night and he has gained a strong testimony of the power of prayer. He stopped in one week.!! Because he had the desire and wanted to change. If we have the desire then anything is possible.

Ya, how Sean felt is exactly how I feel. I thought I was pretty good but I don’t know jack and can’t do this by myself.

That is so cool Jess that you finally learned how to shoot like me. Ha, just kidding. Dad said you might be playing varsity. So I will be able to see you play later on in high school and you will just dominate because you will already know what’s going on.

Ya, Mike i am turning into a Stever as well. But right now my investigators...... we have a family of three that are looking really good right now. The dad and the kid came to all three hours of church and our baptism.!!! The dad and the kid really want to be baptized and I think they will set the example for the mom. But they say that there is an 80 percent chance that your investigators will get baptized if they see another baptism. Who knows. We are actually teaching three families right now. Sort of half of all of them. One of the spouses is kinda in and out. Our Mission Pres told to find two new investigators of gold every week. So with these families and others we will find, I hope we can do that.

Some cool things I am doing that we were told by Elder Benjamine de Hoyos of the 70 is take a new Book of Mormon and highlight all the times it has Christ’s name and his teaching and his doctrine and attributes. It is an activity at the end of chp.5 in PMG, so the people can see that this truly is another testament of Jesus Christ.
We get to talk at the end of this change which is December 21. So I assume I will still be here for Christmas but I am not sure about my comp. But that will come up quick. I don’t know the women here are different. Usually if we eat with a family the wife is in the kitchen the whole time and the husband is eating with us if he is there. I don’t know, the culture is so different here.

Ya, that’s cool about Sean’s talk and that is interesting because I think at times I am worried too much about me and the fact that I should be teaching more and talking more so I can learn the language. I need to do that but I think I have the wrong intentions. I should want to do that so I can bring others closer to Christ. Elder Huerta in my house told me that really it’s not what you say but its how they felt. And really the Lord teaches through the Spirit.

Ya, I am going to try to send pics. I don’t really know how because to upload one takes about 32 hours or something like that. I will see what’s up. We went to a sweet beach place today and took some cool pics. Elder Doerflein took us there.

I love you all and miss you and pray for you every single day. I am going to send the suggestions we got in conference from Hoyos. I don’t know, maybe Jessie can translate.

Here are just a few things crawling around in the house.
Those are the lizards in my corn flakes if it's not clear.
