Fam........................
Well this week has been kind of crazy. We have had to go around in both areas because the American kid that is coming down to live with us is still in the states. So we have to go see the investigators of both areas. But we are keeping it up. The Apolinar guy is rollin. We went after and he had some doubts and thought that his baptism was fine and that he had already done it. But the next time we went and explained very thoroughly the apostasy and he understood very well. It was a great lesson and we really felt the spirit there. Then after that we taught him the plan of salvation and he told us his mom had died when he was young and we told him that he could do work for his mom but in order to do work for her he had do it first for himself. He went on Sunday and he loved it and really felt the spirit. We called him in the afternoon to ask him how he felt and I asked him about his baptismal date and he said that he is pumped and he wants his kids and his wife to hear too.!!!!
Well, mom you asked about my health. Haha I think you asked because you have seen my pics lately. I am kind of worried about it too. I have gotten a lot bigger from when I first came out. I think it's because I did a lot of exercise before with Sluga and that really helped me a lot. And now that I have been here in the mission you can't do a whole lot. So I think my body was used to doing a lot and then it went from a lot to a little. And also every single day we go with sisters who always give us a bunch of food and they always serve us 2 plates and I always leave way full. I don’t know but I have to do something in these last couple of months because I can't go home like this. We have been running almost everyday in the morning for the last couple of weeks and I feel a lot better. So I will have to keep that up. But if you look at a pic of me before the mish and then right now its kind of scary!! Haha But don’t worry we are teaching a girl named Reina and she is studying to be a nutritionist. So I will just ask her what I can do haha.
Something that really struck me this week was on Sunday in the priesthood class we were talking about service and the good Samaritan. In the class there was that less active guy that we ran into a couple of weeks ago and he is really doing well and wants to come back. He made a comment that hit me. All of the priesthood holders were commenting on the good Samaritan story. And he got up and asked who is the good Samaritan here. He said, I have been coming here for three weeks straight and I have a desire to come back to church but I need help. He said I don’t know who the good Samaritan is here because I have never been visited once in these three weeks, besides the missionaries. The room went quiet. We often don’t pay attention in the lesson or we just talk about it but we don’t really practice it. I think that happens many times in classes. Right after the class all the members felt bad and they all went and talked to him. But we need to learn to recognize these situations before he himself has to stand up and say it.
Well, thanks for supporting me always and praying for me. I need those prayer as I hold a very big responsibility and calling. I can not magnify it without the prayers of all of you. I can tell you that right now. I also have learned much about hope and diligence. In preach my gospel there are activities in ch. 6 where you can combine and study certain attributes. I put hope and diligence together. I was thinking that we cannot have a hope for a better world (Ether 12:4) if we do not exercise our faith and are diligent in keeping the commandments. For example I can't have hope to find new investigators or have a hope to have a spiritual lesson if I have not been diligent and if I have not studied and been constant in my work. This hope comes from faith and through this faith comes miracles. But in order to see miracles our faith has to be based on a correct knowledge. In other words if I have the knowledge that only after all I have done I can hope for the Savior's help then, through my faith, I will do all that is possible to obtain that miracle that I am looking for. Right now we are looking for new investigators because we always need them. The ones we have get baptized. After that we can't start with a blank sheet, we need to keep things rollin. (Limp Biskit... rollin rollin rollin rollin what!!!!!) So I ask for your prayers especially for this so I can have the spirit to be guided to those who are ready and to be able to recognize them and find them. Thanks for everything.
Love,
