How is Alli?? Is he ready to go on a mission??
Well this week I felt something weird in the mouth when I woke up. I found out that I have little devils teeth growing in. But I am pretty sure they have been there my whole life. They are just barely poking out. Don't worry about it, mom...I'm fine.
I am reading in 2 Nephi 28...I love this chapter and 29 is way good too for the investigators.
We have two dates for the 17th too!!!!! We might have to change it to the 21 because she can only do it on Tuesdays. That will be sweet. His name is Enrique and his wife. . . well I honestly don't remember her real name but everyone calls her Chayo. They are way sweet. Enrique is so humble and willing to fulfill all the commandments. We told him he had to quit smoking and I told him to give me the box he had and he handed it over, and since then he has not touched them. They are going to be a very strong family in the church. A lot of potential.
Another couple moved here from Guatemala to get married because they had to come back to do the paper work. They already seem like members. All we have to do is help them get married and then they are set to go. He has already read the BOM once and is on his second round. They were driving on the street and they flipped a u-turn and came and contacted us!! Golden contact. They are way sweet.
We also have a couple others that have potential.
I love you all so much and hope you have a great week. Jess your experience is awesome. It's always the best testimony meeting. You have your own testimony, something that you can't deny. And you don't just have faith anymore. Go to Alma 32:34. You now have a sure knowledge it is no longer just your faith. Keep reading the BOM with mom and dad and most importantly set goals in your life of how you can apply what you learn. It doesn't help at all to say we read 10 chapters in one day, if 10 minutes later we already forgot what we read. Apply it. Your testimony will keep on growing.
Well, I received a lot of answers this week. I think most of all with my faith and how I need to trust more in Christ. I also have understood the atonement like never before. I finally read the talk that Anna gave me a long time ago that is called In the Strength of the Lord by Bednar. Oh my gosh, it totally changed my understanding of the atonement. It's not just for those who need to repent but for those who are doing good. We can accomplish things that we could not do ourselves through the atonement of Christ. It says many times that the people were strengthened in the Lord and they were able to do many amazing things that an ordinary man could not do. I really am praying so hard to be able to apply this part of the atonement into the work and into my life. I can set goals that I could not achieve by myself. But I know that after all I can do the atonement of the Lord will come in and do the rest. He talked about how grace is the power by which we can accomplish amazing things. And this grace came about through the atonement of Christ. I am so thankful to understand more fully the atonement. It gives me a desire to help everyone else to understand. Even though I don't understand even the slightest part of it.
Well, I was thinking to myself that I really regret having given up piano. I think it would be so fun to just bust out hymns. Which I can but it takes me forever. I think that is one thing I want to do when I get back. I want to take piano again maybe from Craiger if he has not crashed in his little motorcycle. hahah.
Well, I never thought I would say this but I am so thankful for all the crap that mom packed in the suitcases even though I thought I would never use them my whole mission. Which is almost true...it's the first time I have whipped out the pills. But I got hit with runny nose and all that crap and I opened my suitcase of pills just as we always had on our trips haha. And I found Benadryl!!! It saved my life. So thanks mom, for puttin' all the stuff. It saved me.
Well, the class was good today. We talked about the Book of Mormon and how really through this book the people can have a true testimony of the church and they won't stop going later on. Because a lot down here we hear that our converts are already drinking again and back into their old life. Which is so sad. I read the part in the talk of Holland in October about the BOM. I read the story of Joseph Smith and how he would not deny his testimony that he had about this book. And then I talked about how our converts can have that same conviction. They can know without a doubt that the book is true. And once they know it then they, just as Joe Smith, are not going to deny it or stop doing the things that they have been taught through this book. It was a pretty sweet class. I was thinking last night and the Holy Ghost just started filling my mind with ideas for the class and I wrote them down as quick as I could. It was awesome how quickly the answers can come if we just listen.
