Well, I know we aren’t writing at the same time as usual and that’s probably why you didn’t write yet. Oh well, I guess we will catch each other next week. This week went by so fast. We found some new people that are progressing. Really we didn’t have much when my comp left. We have started to look and have found some that are interested and want to go to church which is the most important. We only had one investigator at the church this week which was kind of a bummer but hey, we did better than the last week. And we are only going up from there. Anyway, we have a family that we are trying to get married so the mom can get baptized and her kids. She had already been taught the lessons and everything but she moved into our area and stopped going to church. We found her last week. So all we need to do is get her prepared.
Right now I am feeling pretty good about the whole senior comp thing. It’s tough but I like the challenge and am ready for it. I am trying to help my comp learn English, he hardly knows any. We are doing all we can, It seems like to be obedient and we haven’t had any baptisms yet. But this is when the faith comes in. It is a promise that if we obey then we will be blessed. So I am not worried about the baptisms because I know they are in His hands. He knows when the timing is right. But we also have a goal for two this month, and so at the same time we are doing all we can to come through with this goal.
Oh my gosh, anyway Mike Coheed and Cambria are on right now here in the internet cafe, the one we always play on rock band. Oh what I would give for a good jam session right now.
Well it doesn’t feel the same when I don’t get a letter from you guys. We will see if I can make it through the week. No, just kidding but not really. I hope everything is going well back home. Dad, how is work? Jess, how is b ball coming along? Mom, how do you feel about all of this stuff going on? It seems crazy that everything is changing around the house. Megan is getting married and Anna is leaving.
One of our converts had a little bit of a slip up and we were talking with him and we got to talking and he said that he thinks a lot about his friend that has died. We talked about how he can do baptisms for the dead, so that one day he can live with him again. And I just realized in this moment when I was explaining this to him that this is what the gospel is all about. It is so perfect. It gives us the chance to live with the people that we love forever if we do all that we can right now.
We just had district class and I love it because every time we have the class I feel like there is so much that I can improve on. I love that feeling that there is always something ahead of you that you can go for. There are so many things that I still need to learn and become better at. We also had our council last night that I told you about that got me pumped too. We are going for everything this week. We are only staying at lunch for 45 minutes so that we can get back out on the streets and teaching. The mission pres changed up the way we are going to teach a little bit too. We are going to teach the first lesson with the invitation to go to church after the lesson, because that is the most important thing that they can do besides praying. And then the second lesson, we teach the third lesson of faith, repentance and baptism with sabbath day at the end. And if we feel like it, he wants us to challenge them to baptism in the second visit!!!! Which is like unheard of. But our President says that we are looking for people that really are ready and have been prepared for us. Alma 16:16. We are not looking for those who are ready in two or three months but right now. So that’s was a big change but it will help us find the ones that really have the desire and are prepared.
Well, I hope you all have a good week and make sure to write in the morning next time so that I have something if we come to write in the morning again. I love you all so much and thank you for your examples and your support. Keep doing what you know is right. I sent some letters on Thursday or Friday and he said they should get there within 10 days or something close to that. So look for those. I sent like 8 or 10 to some friends. And to y’all of course. My email is usually longer because I am answering your questions, sorry it’s short. But that is what went down this week.
Love you all so much.
