Well, my comp really cool. He had a way strict comp before, that taught him a lot and now he is teaching me a lot and letting me put in my part of the lesson. He asks me what I want to improve on and really is worried about what I can do to become better. I have already learned a lot from him. But time has flown so fast and I have already been here for 2 weeks. He is most likely going to leave at the end of this change on Jan. 31, so I need to take advantage and learn as much as I can. Also I need to learn the area because it is huge and I will be showing the new missionary around.
Well, we put a goal for 2010 baptisms for our mission this year. That is 2 or 3 baptisms for every companionship, which definitely is doable.
My prediction for Anna is Italy .
Ya, I heard a bunch of shotguns and pistols going off. haha It was pretty fun and we went and ate at a member’s house.
But you sent me so much crap. I think I have put on a couple. So I think I am going to give most of it away. Or the little that is left. oooops
Well, it is really hard, this lady that ended up not getting baptized because she can’t read to start, so she can’t read the pamphlets we give her and she really can’t remember that well so she is nervous for the interview and everything and she is scared of the water. And now her husband has told us that he doesn’t want us coming over anymore. So I am not sure if we are going to try one more time or not.
The language is coming little by the little, that is the only way it will come. Ya the Sunday school is old testament but we usually go into a class called Gospel Principles with our investigators so I usually don’t hear that. But I have started reading the New Testament and I love Acts. All the stories and they can relate so well to missionaries. I just read Acts 8 and 9 about Phillip and all that.
Well, looking back at these five months I think I can see I have improved a lot but at the same time I am really hard on myself and feel like I could have done more. I don’t know. I am trying to keep all the rules and be obedient because that is the only way the language will come. But we have been riding bikes that a family lent us for a little and I am basically riding a bike for my old companion. Or in other words for someone the size of one of our deacons. My legs have been a little sore but it’s all good.
Well, we really don’t have many investigators right now but we are going to go hard this week and try to find a lot of new ones. We need to fulfill our part of the goal that we have put for 2010. I have put some goals for the new year and I need to make sure I follow through on them.
I am in Mosiah now in the BOM and I have found that I am reading slower. So many times I just want to say I read 2 or 3 chapters but then I look back I and learn nothing. So I am taking it slow and really trying to understand every verse and why this is happening and all of that. I have found it so much more useful.
