Week 91 in Mexico

Well, this is my last email as an Elder, weird right?? Anyway. This week is dad's b day . . . I will actually be able to give you a b day hug. I just want to tell you, dad, that I love you so much and I thank you for the example you have always set for me your whole life. I read my patriarchal blessing today and it talks about you a lot. It says that my parents will always do their best to magnify their callings and that is the example I will follow and have followed. It also talks about how I will be a father. The Lord didn't have to say much to me about that in my blessing, all he had to say to me is be like your dad and do as he has done. Basically saying that everything you do is what I should do to be a good dad someday. How comforting it is to know that I already have the path paved...I already know what to do and if I don't I can just ask the best dad in the world and he will give me a few tips. Happy birthday dad, I love you so much and I admire you so much as a worthy patriarch of our home. Through the priesthood you have made our home a home of comfort and peace and you have prepared and are preparing our family to be an eternal family someday, just as the Lord has commanded.

Well this week was pretty sweet. But at the same time sad.  We had our baptism and we found some new people that are sweet, I'll tell you about them in a minute. But only one of our converts of the 8 that we have baptized went to church yesterday. It's tough down here in Mexico to help friendship someone. The members of the ward just don't understand. I think that's why Mexico still doesn't progress church wise. If they knew how to really help the new converts they would already have like 5 more temples here I think. In the member list there are like 400 members. And like maybe 100 go on Sunday. Yeah, it's tough, because sometimes it just feels like I baptize just to baptize and it's not like that. But it's just way hard because we baptize them and they immediately fall into another category. We can't visit them every day because we have other people we need to teach and sometimes only once or twice a week when they are used to having us go almost every day. So those habits they had begin to leave or they forget and no one is there to say to them, 'hey, remember this or that?' I am praying for them a lot right now.

I got to go. I love you all and see you next week!!!!!!!!!!!

Love,
